I'm sure we could have a barn-storming discussion about it!cmkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16810008386793276590noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6351634849372854826.post-43418965372173461032008-07-10T12:07:00.000-04:002008-07-10T12:07:00.000-04:00I wrote about this (evaluating teachers using stud...I wrote about this (evaluating teachers using students' test scores) for my masters degree. It was difficult to stick to the statistics of it and not get wrapped up in the educational and political perspectives, and I found myself getting incredibly annoyed at people who think that test scores are a great way to 'hold teachers accountable'. There is rarely ever any discussion in the media of the actual nitty-gritty statistical work and decisions that it takes to evaluate teachers-which doesn't surprise me--nor is there much discussion of the 'crazy' belief that students and parents should also be accountable for a child's education. Teachers aren't miracle workers, no matter how many hours they put in.SKHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08445887265872744628noreply@blogger.com
